May is Mental Health Awareness month. The National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) is raising awareness about mental health. They are using this month to focus on the healing value of connecting in safe ways, prioritizing mental health and acknowledging that it’s okay to not be okay.
During the pandemic, and the resulting economic recession, many people’s mental health has negatively been impacted. In January, 2021, 41% of adults reported symptoms of anxiety and/or depression.
During this month, NAMI will continue to amplify the message “You are not alone”.
